Fur gets under my skin - but no further than that

I've been getting a growing number of readers' letters regarding our policy on fur. It's a broad church at The Telegraph , but for the record, I don't endorse the use of real fur and we will never shoot it for these pages.

You will find leather, which, of course, makes my stance inconsistent. But there's just too much of it around to ignore; this isn't the Vegan Times , and most of us wear it, myself included.

Similarly, there's a huge amount of fur around for next winter, more than I can remember for years. Even British designers are using it - where's a David Bailey anti-fur campaign when you need it? There are big-name shows we have to report on and some are almost entirely furry. So that's why you will have seen fur in this section. You may not like it, but you probably need to know it's there.
