The representative also confirmed that the dress was made of ivory silk point d'esprit tulle, had a train embroidered with satin flowers and was hand-painted a soft pink hue. Hathaway's 1920s-inspired headpiece consisted of a lace ribbon with a large flower, adorned with small crystal beads.

The actress and the 80-year-old designer, who retired from the helm of his eponymous design house 2008, have a close relationship and have worked together a number of times to cerate red carpet gowns for Hathaway.
Shortly before the wedding Valentino gushed about Anne, telling E! : "She's sensational. She's fantastic… She deserves what she has in this life. [That] means, she's already a great star. But she's going to be a great, great, great, great thousand times great star. She has all the qualities."
