Strictly Come Dancing beats X Factor in the ratings AGAIN!

Strictly Come Dancing is Cha Cha Cha'ing its way to ratings victory over The X Factor.

Thanks to an injection of Hollywood glamour (it was worth tuning in just to see Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace Dirty Dancing their hearts out) the celebrity dance competition pulled in an average of 9.9million viewers, equalling the audience that the BBC 1 show attracted last week.

On the flipside, The X Factor continued to lose viewers. 200,000 less people tuned in and the third live show reached an average of 8.6million. Maybe club classics week wasn't to everyone's liking?

The news for X Factor (and when we say X Factor, we really mean Simon Cowell, who's always enjoyed a healthy rivalry with Strictly) gets even worse when you compare the peak audience figures – 11.3million telly fans tuned into watch Strictly, while a peak of 9.6million watched The X Factor.

This is the third week in a row that Strictly has trumped The X Factor in the ratings battle, and the two light entertainment giants have yet to overlap by more than a few minutes. Which at least keeps us viewers at home happy, even Si-Co isn't so pleased…
