Sweet Jesus, it’s practically Christmas and that of course means awards season is almost upon us. How the hell did that happen? Time, that’s how – time.

So anyway as our life slowly passes us by and we realise we how little we have achieved, the Golden Globe nominations have been announced.

In the TV category both Downton Abbey and Homeland have been given the most nods and will be battling it out in two categories; Best Drama Series amd Best Actress in a Drama Series (Claire Danes Vs. Michelle Dockery).

Dame Maggie Smith has also been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in Downton, while Damien Lewis for a Best Actor gong for his part in Homeland.

Over in the film categories Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper and Ewan McGregor are up against each other (now there’s a thought) for the Best Actor award, while Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Jennifer Laurence are to do battle for the Best Actress.
