Emeli Sande named iTunes Artist of The Year

We’ve barely been able to turn on the TV/Radio without hearing/seeing her in the last 12 months, so it’s no surprise that Emeli Sande has now been named Artist of The Year by iTunes.

Her album ‘Our Version of Events’ was also the music download site’s best selling album, so it’s a double whammy for her. As you can imagine she’s pretty chuffed, saying:

"To hear that I'm iTunes' 'Artist of the Year' and that 'Our Version of Events' was the best-selling album on iTunes this year is just incredible! Thank you for all your support and making this year even more special."

Emeli isn’t the only singer with cause for celebration either; Carly Ray Jepsen’s annoyingly infectious tune ‘Call Me Maybe’ was named Song of The Year by iTunes, narrowly beating Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ to the post.
