The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey promises to one of the biggest film events of the year.
Last night the film's stars including Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Sir Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis as well as the film's director Peter Jackson descended on to the green carpet for the UK premiere in London's Leicester Square.
Prince William (who knew he was a fantasy film fan?) also attended the star-studded event, but without wife Kate Middleton.
