When the flamboyant high priest of fashion media, André Leon Talley met the slickest and usually the most publicity shy man in design, Tom Ford, we were expecting serious fashion chats about design, inspiration, muses, you know the score. But what we got? Well that was far better – Mr.Ford opened up about his new job, as a dad….

1. He uses a nicknames like everyone else

When Andre asked how’s Jack, did I get the name right? Tom replied"Jack Ford,"He has a very long, fancy name, but I call him Jack.

 2. He is a hands on Papa

“I feed him in the morning, I change his diaper, I dress him, I play with him, and I have a good two or three hours before I go to the office — just me and Jack,"

 3. Tom Ford’s nappies are even luxurious

“They are all natural biodegradable diapers.” Not broadcloth as Talley half-jokingly suggests.

 4. A nanny (or manny) is not for the Ford family

I didn’t have a child because I wanted to hand him off to somebody else, I had a child because I’ve always wanted a child.

 5. Having a baby is like making a movie…

When André demands enquires when Ford’s next movie will be, Tom replies “My first production this year was Jack Ford, and then my second production was this [his autumn winter 2013] show!” We love how Jack Ford already sounds like a super-brand.
