Karlie Kloss moonlights as Daisy Buchanan in Prada's Gatsby costumes

We seem to have been waiting for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby for a very long time, and frankly, if it wasn't for Miuccia Prada's involvement in the movie's costumes we'd probably have given up on it altogether. But finally, its May release date is in sight - proof of which can be seen on Vogue Australia's latest cover, which has reignited our waning interest.

Karlie Kloss looks resplendent in one of the the Prada pieces crafted especially for the film; a crystal dress worn by Carey Mulligan's Daisy Buchanan in one of the story's pivotal scenes. The dress, which Kloss seems to be wearing back-to-front, is a play on a piece from Prada's spring/summer 2010 collection.

It was announced in August last year that Miuccia Prada had redeveloped 40 pieces from the Prada and Miu Miu archives in collaboration with Catherine Martin, the film's costume designer (and also Luhrmann's wife), for the picture. It's the third time the designer has worked with Baz Luhrmann having previously collaborated on his 1996 adaptation of Romeo & Juliet and also for the series of short films that were featured in the Met's 'Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations' exhibition.
