Samantha Cameron pays tribute to Margaret Thatchers style at funeral

Samantha Cameron is fond of a striking style statement for a state occasion - remember her controversial decision to go hatless at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding? So no surprise that the fashionista's funeral look this morning to say goodbye to her husband's predecessor, Baroness Thatcher, has her trending on Twitter.

Recycling a gold pussy bow blouse - a style Thatcher made all her own during her residency at Number 10 - by Paul & Joe, which we last saw her wear for a tea party in 2008, Cameron stood out from the sea of black in ostensibly chic fashion.
Teaming the blouse with a ladylike black jacket, knee-length pencil skirt, pillbox hat and nude suede court shoes, Cameron's ensemble did rather put us in mind of a Fifties air hostess, however.

That neck tie, tied a touch too tight, that hat, a bit too uniform, those American tan tights (or is it a fake tan?) a shade too orange, and the make-up, a stroke too heavy handed.
The debate will not doubt rage as to whether such a flamboyant style statement was suitable for St Paul's Cathedral, but we definitely give her A for effort, even if the mourners felt the urge to ask what time the meal would be served as she passed down the aisle.
