BAFTA TV Awards 2013: Red Carpet Recap
The most prestigious UK-based television awards ceremony took place last night, in the form of the BAFTA TV awards in central London. The bash was filled with all of our favourite Brit celebs from a diverse mix of leading TV shows, which of course means that its red carpet made for quite the fashion feast. Here's a rundown of the trends that we spotted at this year’s event.
The ultimate style icon, Sienna Miller, who was nominated for Leading Actress in The Girl, arrived in a pretty blue pastel dress by Matthew Williamson, which reminded us a lot of the Emilia Wickstead dress that the Duchess recently wore to an engagement at the National Portrait gallery. Does the Kate Middleton effect even apply to A-Listers?
Kimberly Wyatt had an old Hollywood vibe going on as she channeled Marilyn Monroe in a classic floor length pearl gown, retro waves and obligatory siren red lips.
The Great Gatsby influence is continuing to take the fashion world by storm as Presenter Tess Daly’s outfit was clearly 1920s-inspired. She looked gorgeous in the black sheer embellished dress, accessorized with glamorous diamond frosting and ruffle clutch bag.
British actress Aisling Loftus chose a stunning white number with strategic laser cut-out detail.
Despite looking fab in a floor length Sass & Bide number, the award for the most inappropriate dress of the night had to go to reality TV star Millie Mackintosh, as the silk and split side combo really weren’t designed to brave the red carpet on such a windy and rainy day.
