Isabella Blows eclectic wardrobe to go on display

In partnership with the Isabella Blow Foundation and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Somerset House will play host to a selection of clothes and accessories owned by Isabella Blow from November.

Blow, who died in 2007, was credited for discovering fashion designer Alexander McQueen and milliner Philip Treacy, and built up an extensive personal collection of their work.

Famous for her love of eccentric hats, London-born Blow started her career in fashion by assisting Anna Wintour at US Vogue and then becoming fashion editor at Tatler, masterminding many of the magazine's most memorable - and costly - fashion shoots.

"The exhibition will be bittersweet" said Daphne Guinness to Stylist, who purchased Blow's entire wardrobe in 2010, adding how "showcasing her clothes is what she would have wanted."

Blow committed suicide aged 48 after battling with depression. The foundation set up in her memory aims to support aspiring art and fashion students and to facilitate further research in the fields of depression and mental health.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from November 20 to March 2, 2014.
