Miranda Kerr moonlights as air hostess as she dismisses rumours she is difficult

Miranda Kerr has set the record straight about her Victoria's Secret contract not being renewed - as she debuted the new uniforms for Qantas Airways.

Swapping suspenders for 20-denier tights and flamboyant bodices for a sensible shift dress, the Australian beauty's latest assignment was far removed from the glamour of lingerie world.

Rumours circulated last week that the 29-year-old had been dropped as a Victoria's Secret 'Angel' - a spokesmodel for the brand if you like - because of her "difficult reputation".

''I'm sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that it's not true,'' she told the Sydney Morning Herald as she touched down in her native country for her promotional duties.

In fact, she claims that not renewing her contract with the lingerie giant and Australian retailer David Jones was her decision. She explained: ''I'm now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realised I needed to prioritise my time.".

Kerr has a two-year-old son with British actor Orlando Bloom and also has her own Organics skincare line, Kora, which has her mother and brother on its payroll. As well as being the face of Spanish retailer Mango, she also plans to release Empower Yourself, a follow-up to her bestselling book Treasure Yourself, later this year.

"I'm just not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time. It's three months at a bare minimum'' said Kerr, who is based is Los Angeles but will be relocating to New York while Bloom stars in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway.''

Ever the professional, she described the Qantas uniforms as "vibrant" and said she was proud to be representing the Australian brand during the catwalk show, which included Qantas staff and another notable famous Australian in the front row: Cate Blanchett.
